Moriah Sandy

Mananya and I met a few years ago, through my former lab mate, who was
Mananya’s roommate at the time.  Mananya quickly became friends with
everyone in my lab, and she spent so much time with us that I started
calling her my favorite pretend lab mate.  Mananya has since been one
of my closest friends in graduate school and we’ve had some really
good times together :-) I will always remember and cherish her sense
of humor, her way of taking a positive outlook on everything and of
course I love that she was always a reliable ice cream/tea buddy no
matter what the season or time of day!  Mananya always had a way of
making life’s road blocks seem trivial.  Mananya told me that she was
completely happy with her life, that she had no regrets, and that
having cancer made her realize and appreciate everything she had done
and experienced in her life even more, and I don’t think many people
can say that!  I am truly fortunate to have been friends with Mananya.
I will miss her very much, but whenever I am feeling down I will
think of her smiling face, and know that I can get through anything,
just like she did.

Much Love,

Moriah
